Continental style surfrod from Blackrock, designed specifically with the UK shore angler in mind.

The powerful blank of the Blackrock SS10 Competition Surf 4.5m (14ft10ins) is made from high modulus Japanese carbon, and comes with high grade fittings, a fuji reel seat and fuji 'K' guides. It's a powerful blank, capable of casting leads from 3 - 7oz.

The sensitive (carbon/glass) tip gives good bite detection at long range, but the rod still has power in the middle and lower sections to handle decent fish. This rod features a critical weight balance system with additional weights being incorporated into the butt section to aid with casting.

The construction and action of this rod is very similar to a high performance rod that we stocked some time ago, the difference being that it comes to the market at almost half the cost. This rod has proved very popular over recent years with our customers.

It seems the pricey reputation of these continental style long rods is changing.
