Bass are being caught from local beaches, both on bait and lures.
Pictured is Les Glazzard with a nice bass caught on lugworm bait. Also pictured is Ollie Franks who had a couple of bass around the 3lb mark, using lures at low tide.
Kayak anglers are also catching bass and smoothhound, sometimes close to shore. Gary Willis is pictured with a nice bass caught off Eastbourne.
Smoothhounds are also beginning to show, including some up to 7-8lb, many on squid, ragworm and prawn bait.
Hopefully we will soon see dover sole off local beaches.
