The first ever recorded bluefin tuna was caught out of Eastbourne by Grant's Fishing Adventures & Charters, operating out of Eastbourne Sovereign Harbour and licenced to Catch & Release Tuna!

Grant reported:

'The first ever recorded Bluefin tuna caught out of Eastbourne, which I am fortunate to have a 'Catch and Release' licence for 2025.

We managed to hook up to this stunning Bluefin Tuna, measuring 64 inches and weighing around 200lbs. From there, we revived the fish and released it back to swim freely for another day!

I am excited to charter my boat and share this experience with others. Looking forward to seeing more of these incredible Bluefin Tunas off our coastline very soon' Nice one Grant, great to hear!!
