Directions

From Pevensey Bay, follow Coast Rd heading east towards Norman’s Bay.  

Past Norman’s Bay Camping and Caravanning Club site the road turns inland and goes over a level crossing. Turn right and go straight on past The Star Inn and over a bridge. The road bends around to the right to head towards the coast, and over a second level crossing. The Woodyard is just past the level crossing on the right hand side of the road.  Off road parking is available on the right hand side of the road. Go up the steps next to the Woodyard entrance, to access the beach.

Recreational Bass Fishing Restrictions - Updated October 2023

1st Feb - 31st March - recreational sea angling for seabass is permitted on a catch and release basis only.

1st April - 31st January - recreational sea anglers are permitted to retain up to two bass per angler per day (over the minimum conservation reference size of 42cm).

 

UPDATE 2021

CONGER EELS may also now be caught at this location, from Spring through to Autumn. Best baits for conger are large fish or squid baits, fished on a large hooked (size 5/0+) Pulley Pennel rig, best after dark.
