Despite the unpredictable weather in recent weeks, we have seen some nice fish caught from local beaches. Michael Gilbert caught a thornback of 4-5lb in daytime at the end of the bungalows in Normans Bay. But the majority of the fish have been caught at night.
Eastbourne has produced some good smoothound up to 8-9lb and both Pevensey Bay and Eastbourne has recently seen a few lovely sole beginning to show, with Martin Wright catching a nice 1lb 9¾oz specimen in the Anderida Beach Fishing Club match last Friday. There are still a few black bream being caught up to the 1lb mark. And some sizable bass!
Thanks Dan Slidel - great night, great report and pictures! Dan's report from Friday night:
'Some amazing fishing last night! Action started about 9 with a first for me a bream from the beach. Switching to smaller hooks the next cast resulted in a screaming run, it could only be a hound! Biting through the bream rig I switched over to larger hooks, on a pulley. 8 screaming runs later I had landed 5 more hounds, and a bonus bass of 3.5lb. hounds ranged in size from 4lb 4oz to 7lb12oz.'
Please keep your catch news coming!
