We have had numerous reports of smoothhound catches from Pevensey beaches over the weekend, both night and day!
Thanks Martin Wright for this picture of a 100cm smoothhound caught earlier this week on lugworm bait, one of many catches this week!

Thanks Danny May who sent these pictures and report:
'Thanks for the Ragworm! fantastic session this morning by Billy’s Tower (Normans Bay). Unfortunately lost what would have been my biggest ever Smoothound at my feet but the session was more than worth it'

Thanks Nathan Lower who sent this great picture reporting:
'Fishing a local beach this morning. In the end I had 2 plaice on lug, 2 thorn backs and 4 smooth hounds, this being the biggest caught on a squid and lug combo'

Barry Roberts is pictured with a new PB smoothhound caught from a local beach. Barry reported:
'Was definitely worth braving the stormy conditions ... ' Barry caught a total of 3 hounds, one at 80cm, one at 84cm and another at 93cm, which according to our chart weighs 6lb 10½oz, his new PB! Nice one Barry, thanks for letting us know. Please keep your catch news coming.

Alex reported a total of four smoothhounds and one thornback ray.
Alex sent this first smoothhound catch picture Saturday evening just after 6pm saying:
'Thrilled to bits with this beauty caught on fresh lug at 18:05pm Pevensey' and then the second picture of a great smoothhound catch at just after 6am on Sunday morning.
Were you there all night Alex?!

Colin Voller is also pictured with a 4lb smoothhound caught on 13th July at Pevensey Bay - well done Colin!
