Plaice in numbers during the daytime and thornback ray at night from local beaches - greatly improved local beach fishing - Happy Days :)

Local angler Pete Cornwell reported he is back fishing with fishing buddy Sala - great to hear from you Pete!
After their first session back, last weekend, Pete reported:
'On our night session, the wind was going northerly - not exactly what we wanted, but it turned into a good session. Was cold and clear, water was dirty. We fished Eastbourne. Fish as follows;
Sala - 9 dogfish, 1 bass.
Me - 1 bass, 6 whiting, 13 dogfish, 2 rays (3lb 8oz and 4lb)'

Fishing day and night from local beaches has greatly improved this past week.
Glyn Morgan is pictured with fishing buddy Gary Banfield who had a great session at Eastbourne last night. They caught 5 thornback rays and some dogfish, the biggest ray was a 56cm fish caught by Glyn weighing 8lb12ozs. Bait used was bluey and squid fished on a pulley rig. An angler fishing a couple of beaches away also landed a 6lb conger! Great fishing!!
During the daytime, plenty of sizeable plaice are also being landed from the Langney point and Eastbourne areas. The best rigs to use are 2 or 3 hook dropper rigs with worm baits. Tides are starting to lengthen now so bait should become more available as we head through next week. Happy Days!
