30th January 2022
After a visit to the shop for some bait, young Freya went fishing at the weekend on an Eastbourne beach, under lovely blue skies, with dad Nathan Fotoohi.
In a busy session, Freya and dad caught 7 whiting, 2 plaice and 2 dab, after which Freya decided she she doesn't want to go to school any more - just fishing. Good luck with that Nathan!

So after a couple of months of whiting and a few dabs, finally something different.
Fished Sunday , Eastbourne, with Damien, and Sala. Fish caught.....
Me - 4 plaice 30, 31, 37, 38cm, 2 dabs to 27cm, 6 whiting, 1 scorpionfish
Sala - 2 plaice to 35cm, 1 whiting
Damien - 2 plaice 30, 28cm, 3 whiting

Plaice, flounder and dab are the main fish being caught during the daytime from local beaches, with whiting and dogfish being caught at night.
Les Glazzard caught 5 plaice and 6 dab fishing from a local beach this week, with the biggest plaice just over a pound.
Chris Voller went fishing with dad Colin from a local beach and reported:
'Plenty of plaice beginning to show, not particularly large ... Dad managed 7 today, including 2 double shots to 39cm, I managed 6 myself, but all smaller, and all to Anglers Den blacks' Colin is pictured with a double shot of plaice.

Great to see thornback rays again being caught from a local beach. Tony Wright send these pictures, reporting:
'Quick session at local Eastbourne beach on the 1/1/2022 windy but was happy the land 3 rays and 6 dogfish between the onslaught of whiting caught on your bluey baits'
