31st August 2021 - Update

Night fishing from Eastbourne beaches is producing some good dover sole at the moment, with some topping the scales over 2lb. Small plaice are showing during daylight, when the sea is clear, also bass being caught on lures when it's clear and on bait when the water is cloudy.

Plenty of small ( pup) smoothound being caught throughout beaches of Eastbourne and pevensey, which bodes well for the future. Best baits are lugworm and ragworm for flatfish, with squid and fishbaits being preferred for the bigger fish.

22nd August 2021

Gary Banfield is pictured with a conger eel of 18lb 6oz in a session at Cooden. Also a ray of 5½lb plus a 3lb 10oz bass.

A great night session with Glyn Morgan of Anglers Den who also had 6 rays and a small conger.
