Had a great day out today with Peter Lavington on our boat Indio 2 out of the Sovereign Harbour.

The rain was light but pretty persistent and it didn’t dampen our spirits or enthusiasm. Started on the Nab and had our four bass, all excellent condition fish up to around 5lb with a bonus cod. The cod must have lived on the rock for a long time as came in very dark but lost a lot of its colour in the cool box.

Once we’d achieved our quota of spikey’s we headed out to the East Buoy and enjoyed a further six species including ballan wrasse, a female cuckoo wrasse, black bream, smoothound, dog fish and pout…..all caught on Anglers Den worms and cuttle.

I was told that there aren’t any fish out there but as a wise man once told me, you won’t catch fish sitting in the pub!!
