WOW!! A 15lb 2oz smoothound from a local beach - a new PB for Luke Ripley!

Fred Wassel is pictured with a nice 3½lb codling at Seaford today! This was one of three codling caught between Fred and his fellow angler. Over recent days, we have also heard reports of codling caught from Hastings pier, and also several reports of codling catches from Pevensey Bay. Great to see the codling showing from local beaches!!
The recent spell of rough weather has also bought fish in to feed with lots of reports of bass also being caught from local beaches, including some sizable.

Jason Scott is pictured outside Anglers Den this morning with three CODLING, all around 2lb, caught last night from a local beach.
Happy days - they are in!!

'Hi guys,
One word from a spot in the bay last night. Wow!! Using the last of our anglers den frozen blacks, we managed to avoid the codling, but the thornbacks are there in very heavy numbers. 16 in 4 hours to me and dad, Colin Voller. All between 2 and 7lb and I also managed a nice 6lb bass on the last cast'
