'Had a fantastic session at a local Eastbourne beach Monday night to start my anglers den species hunt week
The evening started slow with a few micro fish !
Then it got better and better
I had 7 species:
Bass, smoothound, sole, pout, silver eel, dogfish, conger eel
Fish were biting as soon as my bait hit the water ! I had to bait up 6 rigs to keep up with the fishing on the 2 rods !!!!!
The conger was 2 or 3 cm out of the 91cm needed to count which was gutting it came out at 3lb 5oz
One of dogfish I had weighed in at 1lb 6oz which I weighed in
Fantastic start to my species hunt !'
Thanks Neil Blackford for this picture of James Blackford with one of two smoothounds, the biggest being 8lb, caught this week at Langney Point, Eastbourne on Anglers Den black lugworm. Bass and dover sole were also caught in the same session.

James Blackmar is pictured with the 1lb 14¼oz dover sole caught from a local beach which got him on the Anglers Den Week Long Speci Hunt board (for the time being!) Well Done James!!

Ed Howarth caught this bass on mackerel bait head at close range from an Eastbourne beach on Saturday night (11/7). It went 6lb 8oz and was safely returned. Well Done - Thanks Ed!!

' unfortunately didn't win on the anglers den speices hunt but got very close. Fished with my friend Sala. Nice to finally get a calm night. I also saw some of the smallest mackerel I have ever seen. So as follows....
Sala.... 2 x sole..... Small 4x bass...... Small 1 x plaice..... 27cm 6 x mackl
Me..... 1x smoothie.. 3lb 3x bass.... 2lb 3oz 1x sole..... 36cmn 1x Black Bream...15oz 3x mack 1 x plaice...Small.'

Bob Sandalls is pictured with a 5lb bass and a 6lb smooth hound caught from a local beach and both released safely. Nice one - Thanks Bob!!

Glyn Morgan is pictured with a 10lb smoothound that won him the Anderida Beach Fishing Competition.Well done Glyn!!
Jim Whippy also has the biggest flatfish with a dover sole of 7½oz in this match with 23 anglers fishing.

'Went out last night with Luke Ripley off the beaten track completely was a amazing night took me to some top secret marks
Amazing time. Lost 1 fish and 2 lost slack lines, last fish of the night this awesome 47cm bass ? great fun and thanks to Luke will deffo be going again although think I need some studded boots !!!!!'

'a very warm, breezy, damp night... Fished Eastbourne with fishing buddy Sala.
So as follows Sala 2x hound pups 5 x Bass including a 43,45 cm Me 7x hound pups 3x bass including a 46cm!'
