January 2020 Sea Catch News Plenty of Plaice!

24th Jan - Paul Sandalls is pictured with a lovely 2lb 4oz plaice caught this morning at Seaford, one of 11 caught by Paul who was fishing with a friend who also caught six ! Happy Days!
24th Jan - Michael Opreshko is pictured with a plaice caught from at Splash point, Eastbourne - nice one Mike!!
22nd Jan - James Hughes sent pics below and reported 'Few plaice today from Cooden using up some of my stash of frozen oiled salted - seem to be a few showing now very thin as expected but in good nick all the same' Thanks James!
22nd Jan - Today's catch report, fished Eastbourne, dull weather, light winds, calm sea, fairly clear. Well don't normally do weekdays but coz of car probs got a pass from the misses lol. So with plaice starting to show, thought I would do my first plaice session of the year. Fish as follows
First Sala:
Plaice x 3- small
Flounder, x1 - 32 cm
Now me: dab x1- small
Plaice x 13- 27cm, 31cm, 32cm, 34cm
Others were small.
21st Jan Harvey Shelley pictured below fished a session at Langley point catching dogfish, pout and whiting - Thanks Harvey :)
4th Jan - There have been increasing numbers of plaice reported from local beaches over the past week. Keeley Moule is pictured with a 40cm plaice weighing 1lb 13oz, caught from an Eastbourne beach today.
Earlier this week Fred Wassell caught a 42cm plaice at Seaford - pictured below.
4th Jan - Harvey Shelley fished this morning's high tide at 5 am and reported
'Not soo many whiting as usual, had a couple of them, one rockling, one nice pout and dogfish , first time also using my new Blackrock SS10 rod'
