Mariusz Darocha sent this report after a BUMPER MACKEREL FISHING SESSION IN SEAFORD at the weekend
'Hi.Fished from the Seaford Beach this Saturday caught lots of Mackerels some smaller some bigger but one cast was spectacular. Caught 4 mackerels during one cast size 39-41 cm long, rod bent to the ground hard to reel, such big mackerels, my PB. Nothing to be proud of its just a mackerels but these were huge!
After having 28 packed up my rod, no more mackerels needed, these will fill up my fridge in full. Chopped one of my mackerels head off and changed my rod to bass but wasn't lucky, 30-45 mins later big shoal of mackerels arrived in very close distance to the beach. You could net them if you want, massive shoal.
Anybody needs mackerels head to Seaford beach 2hrs before and after the high tide.
Smoked half of these fresh mackies today in my garden's smoke barrel. Delicious.'
